Melanie Hanf

My work explores the relationship between form, material and space.

​

With a background in object design and years of international work experience in Hong Kong and China, I create contemporary sculptures defined by reduced lines, balanced proportions and a strong physical presence.

​

Influenced by natural principles such as the Fibonacci sequence, as well as my study of Tai Chi, meditation and Feng Shui, my work explores balance, movement and stillness.

​

Each piece is handcrafted, primarily in copper, silver, gold and stone.

​

I see my sculptures as quiet anchors in space — objects that invite us to pause, reconnect and become present.

​

Alongside my existing collection, I create bespoke sculptures and wall objects for private and commercial interiors.

​

Scale, proportions, materials and expression can be tailored to the individual architecture and spatial context. Each piece is created as a unique work, designed to become an integral part of its surroundings while maintaining its own distinctive presence.

For interior designers, architects and design professionals, I also develop site-specific and made-to-measure pieces for individual projects.
